Portrait Session with Jordan

Photo session with Jordan last week in New Westminster. The quay in New West is actually really nice. Apart from the scenic view of the river, there's lots to experience - neat shops and different restaurants.

The sun sets so early this time of year.
Nevertheless beautiful.

Portrait Photo Session with Brandon

So kind and such a gentleman Brandon :) It was nice catching up!
I mean it was beautiful out, but the weather is getting so cold! We didn't (couldn't) stay out for long - went for pho after haha.

The natural colours of autumn makes for a tasteful backdrop, doesn't it?

7 Places I Visited in Philadelphia

1. Philadelphia Museum of Art
This is where the iconic rocky balboa statue is. I had done the running up the stairs and doing the balboa pose earlier this year, it's a fun philly must-do. Everyone does it :).

2. The Italian Market
I think that at one time this market may have been Italian ( I mean there are Italian shops) but its more of a local street market run by mexicans. There's lots to see and inexpensive groceries.

3. Penn Museum
My favourite of the ancient eras is Egypt. I find the pyramids, mummies, and hieroglyphics all so intriguing. The Penn Museum had lots of artifacts, information, and the mummies are impressive.

4. The Penitentiary
I was most excited for this. I ended up going by myself, so it was kind of scary but still totally worth it. I don't know if it's just me, but I love experiences like these! The pamphlet described the place to have an eerie beauty and I agree. The last photograph is of an escape rope they found made out of bed sheets!

5. Reading Terminal Market
Inside the Reading Terminal Market are local bakeries, meat shops, groceries, and other cute shops selling candles and soaps. If you've been to Pikes Place in Seattle on the west coast, thats what it reminds me of (except its less pricey here). This is also where I had my first philly cheesesteak - It was real good after running around sightseeing.

6. Love Park
Philadelphia - the city of brotherly love. They usually have a fountain running behind the letters, but since Christmas is around the corner, they had a huge christmas tree up, pretty cute.

7. Frankford Hall
The best for last. It was really nice here, I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. Especially in the evening, when they have the heaters and fire pits going, and the little holiday lights are on.

Hope you enjoyed the photographs.
If you were thinking of visiting and it has helped in any way, I'm thrilled.

Philadelphia City Hall

Spending time in Philly at the moment, it's actually almost time for me to head back home (Vancouver). I've been here twice now, and every time, I love going to the centre city to admire Philadelphia's City Hall. The building is stunning.

More Philly photographs to come.

Homemade Granny Smith Apple Pie

These pies make your home smell heavenly. Once they're out, scoop vanilla ice cream on the side - perfecto. My favourite fall dessert!

Korean BBQ (Samgyupsal + Soju)

Last week, we celebrated our friend's birthday with Korean BBQ. I think it was last month, I captioned an instagram I posted saying how grateful I was that I am able to appreciate Korean food. I am also appreciative of the fact that I can take part in Korean culture and have a sense of belonging to it, even if it is as simple as understanding a witty Korean joke.

Portrait Photo Session With Maya

I have the loveliest of friends. These are some of the portraits I took of Maya during our Saturday out. The brick walls in these photographs are so welcoming of autumn. It's beginning to get a bit chilly in Vancouver, time to dig out those scarves.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'm most thankful for the people in my life that I love.

Vanilla Soy Latte @ Finch's

Above is the cheddar/onion baguette I ate for brunch with my delicious vanilla soy latte. I found this cafe (Finch's Cafe) doing extra work a couple weeks ago, Maya said she'd already been and agreed on cute it was. So! We started our Saturday date here aand it was lovely :).

Next stop, 'Fly Over Canada'- a 4D virtual flight across Canada by Canada Place. It was amazing. I did not have high expectations going into it at all. If you live in the Vancouver area, or are visiting, or have friends visiting from out of town, we totally recommend it. It wasn't a long screening, but you fly over (get to see) the most beautiful parts all across Canada!

Also, we spent the day vlogging, so one vlog coming right up.

Baby Kale

A few of Kale's health benefits,

they are high in:

  • Iron
  • Calcium
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin K
  • Vitamin C
Great for your vision, immune system, metabolism etc.

I prefer to get baby Kale over mature Kale just because they are easier to cook with and blend away in my morning juice (much like baby spinach).
