Being Vegan and eating Out

It's been just shy of 6 months since becoming Vegan. And throughout this span I've been to a few vegan restaurants, but always in the back of my mind feel a little hesitant to try new ones out, just because of the stories you hear about them not being that great etc. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't want to go to a restaurant with lowered standards because I'm vegan now. I want to enjoy the experience of eating out, just as I did before making the change.

When I was in Philadelphia, I did some browsing for nice vegan experiences and came across a restaurant called VEDGE. It had wonderful reviews from non-vegans as well. We gave it a go and there are too many good things I could say about this place. Everything was absolutely delicious, I cannot wait to go back :). Not only were our mains amazing.. but the cheesecake for dessert was to die for. Salivating just thinking about it haha.

I can say the experience has made dining out as a vegan more hopeful.

Atlantic City - Boardwalk

Kyle nor I gamble, but we thought it would be nice to make a trip to Atlantic city.  It turned out to be the perfect day- breezy and sunny. We ended up getting some grub first thing, we were famished from our bus ride haha. Soy burgers, since we're vegan, it was delicious :d.  I made it a point to grab some salt water taffy, it always reminds me of that episode on friends where ross explains how salt water taffy is actually not made from salt water at all (I know, nerdy, but I love that show). We got the sugar-free kind.. but I can't say we were completely guilt-free because we ended up chowing down some deep-fried oreos! num!

Philadelphia : Frankford Hall (BEER GARDEN)

This past weekend we made a trip to Frankford Hall. My Second time there, and I loved it all the more. It's a neat beer garden with good beer and good people. They have these fries you dip in 'curry ketchup', its pretty awesome :d.

I dont recall much of how I got home haha, but I did, with the help of Kyle. I mean, I did end up with some scabby knees.. but its nothing a bit of polysporin cant clean up.

Philly we meet again

So I've been here since last monday (monday night). That means technically I've been here for a whole week. I'll try to post continuously, or at the least, the most that I can while Im here in philly. These are some shots taken while we were out and about. There's not much green compared to back home, but I do enjoy the red bricks very much! Maybe because it's not something I experience often, or maybe it reminds me of when I used to visit my grandparents in Winnipeg, I find the red quite warming :).

Tomorrow, Kyle and I are supposed to visit Atlantic City. yippee!

Portrait Session with Amanda and Rex

Too sweet to be true? definitely. Rex is adorable! I mean, you can't expect much patience from puppies, but I think he did quite well ;).
