Goji Berries

Goji Berries. I was shopping in the natural foods section and I picked up a pack of dried goji berries to see what the hype was about.

I could see myself incorporating them into some homemade baked goods.. or tossing them in a baggy of assorted nuts as trail mix. Though I must say, they're pretty addicting on their own as well.

I love the way they're chewy, they have the chewiness raisins lack.

I can't say I suddenly feel much greater and healthier and compare them with other berries. But then again, most berries are pretty much awesome for your health.

Give them a go!

Widening Horizons

I think it's important to regularly push yourself out of familiarity and venture forth some how and some way. Staying within comfort zones is easy, but you'll never be as happy as you could be. Ultimately, widening your horizons will help you become a better version of you.

Don't be afraid and sail away from the safe harbour. explore. dream. discover. :)

Novelty

As much as we say we love routine and staying in our comfort zones, most people actually find happiness in novelty. New experiences. Especially when we find ourselves in new unexpected situations and we handle it well, we gain a sense of satisfaction with ourselves. A form of happiness.

Try something new today. You may be pleasantly surprised. And if you aren't, try something new tomorrow ;).

Write Things Down

Write things down!

I can't speak for people who dislike planners..  because I love them, but if you get a kick out of filling up calendars - encourage that joy.

Make lists. I have been told written to-do lists have a much higher success rate than the ones done up in your head, and I'm a believer.

Take advantage of post-its! they're fun, easy, accessible, and great at reminders.

Especially if you find yourself living a tight schedule, having organized planners and to-do lists really help you take advantage of spare blocks of time - because you're physically able to see where they exist.

Seize what time you have! :)

The Happiness Project

Today was my one day off from work, and among many other tasks on my to-do list, I decided to put reading at the top - and I'm glad I did. The book is called The Happiness Project. To be frank, I have not been my happiest as of late. I knew I needed somewhat of a boost, which is why I sat at a coffee shop all day and read about this happiness project.

I can't say I completely relate to the author because I am not a wife, nor mother, nor do I live in New York, but the read was still revealing, inspiring, and encouraging. Something I do admire about the author is that she is a lawyer-turned-writer. She's doing what she loves.

I've heard this over, but after the read it has been re-imprinted -that tasks you do daily are the ones that make the differences and will ultimately bring forms of happiness. (exercising, eating right, the way you treat the people around you etc.)

cheers

Portrait Session with the Lam Sisters

Family is what keeps us going. Siblings are something really special. Even with awesome siblings, I can't but envy the relationship Amanda and Bri have - Sisters, and bestfriends. Not to mention they are both totally beautiful!
