BBQing Vegan

Above is my lovely man and our vegan burgers. We spent the day before labouring, forming them into those delightful little patties.

I can give you a rough recipe I suppose.

They consisted of black beans, gluten, curry powder, garlic, red peppers, cilantro, and some veggie broth. We brushed on some liquid smoke as a finishing touch.

And as you can see by the photographs, the day was absolutely beautiful.

Cathy made us homemade vegan cake, all I can say is that it was divine.

Summer Wedding

These are a few photographs from a wedding a couple months back.
Yes, I cried.
I feel like if I'd actually known the couple and the guests at the wedding, I'd have been bawling my eyes out. Haha, not really, but really. Weddings are beautiful in so many ways.

Camping Fun

It's really only camping if there's a campfire.

Camping is kind of like Summer Christmas (in a superficial way). It brings people together, there's tradition... you roast marshmallows.. haha.

Popping popcorn over a campfire takes practice.. and skill. :)

The lovely Cathy making us some morning coffee. Delightful, and very necessary ;)

I am so so lucky to live in BC

Telegraph Cove

We hadn't originally planned our trip to end up in Telegraph Cove, but BC throws you rain, and you change your plans.

Once getting off the ferry from nanaimo, we found a place to set camp from the help of some locals, made a cozy wee fire and cooked dinner.

oh by locals, I meant the employees at the liquor store :).

Quaint indeed.

So the reason we made our trip north was because we were flipping through some brochures in the car and there was a page that pointed out kayaking with the orcas was rated #2 on lonelyplanet (Canada). They come as pods to feed on our salmon.

Excited, we called with our inquiries, but they told us it was a 50/50 chance we'd get to see them considering we only had the time for a day trip.

Sure enough we did not end up seeing them.

However, we did see porpoises (similar to dolphins I'd say), a black bear, eagles, and a seal family.

Look how beautiful that water is!

It really is Beautiful British Columbia
