Tattoo Coverup with Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation

I have always been intrigued by Vichy's Dermablend Corrective Foundation after seeing it used on Zombie Boy. I tried it out and it's pretty rad.
If anyone has been interested in it, it works. *Cruetly-free.

I used the shade in 25 NUDE

VEGAN Quinoa Salad

I love quinoa. Whenever I get the chance, I see someone cooking quinoa and they're not toasting them beforehand, I make sure to let them know how much more delicious they become when you do! Toasting them brings out a nuttyness you otherwise wouldn't experience. The same goes for any seed in my opinion. Seseme seeds? done. I mean if you're the friend who's toasting them pumpkin seeds on Halloween, you get me.

Anyways, here in these photographs I've combined my cooked quinoa with some red onion and English cucumbers to create a beautiful salad. Yum.

Vegan Date Dessert

My dessert obsession at the moment. I have to say, when I adopted my vegan diet, I did not think I would be tasting any sort of cream cheese haha. So it was to my delight when I discovered Tofutti. I imagine it can't be any healthier than real cream cheese because I mean it is simulating something out of ingredients that are completely different. Let me tell you though, it is good stuff!

So for this dessert, I have just stuffed this vegan cream cheese into some pitted dates and have topped them off with pistachios. Ahmazing.

I Have No Plan B

Having no Plan B (I've been watching Casey's vlogs again, I think I'm in love with them). It's scary but I love the idea. Freeing, but scary.

To ultimately love what I do and simultaneously contribute to my community, my society, that's really the best. For me, that would be the best.

I was thinking the other day about travelling. And the places that I've travelled so far. Currently I'm away from home in Australia. I don't know what travelling is or means to me if it can't be shared or benefit individuals other than myself. I know many say travelling is everything. For me, it depends. I don't know if you will relate or understand, I'm having a bit of difficulty explaining my feelings more in depth. Perhaps, I'll leave the thought at that for now and return to it in the future.

My Cup of Tea | DIY

Lately I've been using a white mug and a whiteboard marker to doodle on my daily cup of tea. Not just doodles, but reminders of what I'd like to focus on throughout the day. I have to say, it's really been helpful. I can write my favourite motivational quotes, and it's there to look at whenever I go to take a sip. I suggest it :).

I know, I need to pull up my socks and continue on daily with these posts!

What does Etiquette Mean to You

I recently came across an article by Forbes titled, "27 Etiquette Rules for Our Times". The list is introduced by saying "You'll notice a common denominator in all of them: Think about other people's feelings first because it's not all about maximising your personal convenience" This is more of what etiquette means to me.

A few of my favourites from the list:

1. When you get to the front of the line at Starbucks, don't tell the barista to wait while you wrap up your phone discussion. The barista hates you, and so does everyone behind you. They are hoping the barista spits in your latte. (lol)

2. Don't show up at a party empty-handed, unless you've been instructed to - and sometimes not even then Bring wine or dessert or a plant. (yes)

3. Remember that if you feel a need to respond immediately to every incoming text, you'll lose more in the eyes of the person who's in front of you than you'll gain from the unseen people who are benefiting from your efficiency. (totally agree)

I've Won the Lotto on Life

No matter how shitty my luck may seem on a particular day, I was born in Canada. I drink from what seems like unlimited tap water. I have never known what it means to be hungry. I have never known what true hunger really means. I know my next meal is when I want it. I am ashamed to say it's hard to conceive in my mind what it must be like to not.

I hope I never stray far from this idea and live life worth my ticket.

Why am I Vegan?

Why am I vegan? I will probably do any extended post later throughout my blogging, today I will just mention that it is because of environmental reasons. I have never considered myself an "environmentalist" to be frank. I have however somewhat always been conscious of conserving electricity, water, taking public transit instead of driving - apparently none of that compares when an individual decides to take on veganism. Cowspiracy was a really insightful documentary I watched.

Take a Moment

"When we attempt to use criticism to win an argument, to make a point, or to incite change we are taking two steps backward. People can be led to change as horses can be led to water, but deprecation will rarely inspire the results you are aiming for... And when another is defensive, there is little you can say to break through the barriers he has raised. Everything you say is then filtered through skepticism, or worse, complete incredulity."

Something New

This past month I have been incredibly inspired by Casey Neistat's work. He is a genius. Watching his movies has compelled me to do more. "Work Harder". I'm thinking of starting something new on this blog. I love a lot of the images I've posted here in the past, but nothing really I can say I am proud of. I feel like none of it I have worked for, just passive posts. Basically, I am craving content that is exciting to post, content that I am itching to post. I am not certain of the specifics of this series, but I hope to see you daily. daily, that is the start.

Beauty Haul

Picked up a few things while I was out in the city during the day. They are all repurchases except for the Anastasia Pomade and Mac lipstick (Media). Of course it was one thing I had set out to pick up and returned home with the one and more. Yesterday I had a bit of a panic moment when I realised I had misplaced my Anastasia brow wiz. I don't know where it went and I cannot find it for the life of me. It seriously disappeared. I did what I could to make up my brows with what little I have naturally (ick). So today I picked up a new one and I thought that I would also take on the Anastasia pomade since everyone has be talking about it. Basically I came home, took off my brows and gave it a go. I love it. So now I'm thinking I'll leave the Anastasia brow wiz in my makeup bag, but my main brow game is going to consist of this pomade! It's wonderful. Anyways, besides the brow stuff, I also treated myself to another Mac lipstick, It's in the shade Media, completely beautiful. I know It's just about summer everywhere else, but winter is coming here in Melbourne. So this rich shade is perfect.

Thanks for reading, much love xo

Those Trees Though

My housemate and I decided that we'd do some weekend exploration. Sometimes little reception and good company is what you need to just relax and really appreciate mother nature. Look how beautiful these trees are :)

Vegan Roasted Potatos

I've been trying to do my best to avoid prepackaged foods, including chips. This really kills me, I am very much an addict of those delicious crunchy things. So lately my alternative has been making my own comfort food. Adding nutritional yeast makes everything more savoury, I love it.

A tip I have for roasting potatoes is to microwave them before seasoning and baking. This way the potatoes have less moisture going into the oven which makes the end result crispier!

Kangaroos

Hands down the most fun experience I've had with any animal. Probably has something to do with my fascination for these particular furry beings.  They made me laugh, as though they were telling funny jokes, surrounding me and waiting for the grub in my hand. Beautiful aren't they?
