Vegan Date Dessert

My dessert obsession at the moment. I have to say, when I adopted my vegan diet, I did not think I would be tasting any sort of cream cheese haha. So it was to my delight when I discovered Tofutti. I imagine it can't be any healthier than real cream cheese because I mean it is simulating something out of ingredients that are completely different. Let me tell you though, it is good stuff!

So for this dessert, I have just stuffed this vegan cream cheese into some pitted dates and have topped them off with pistachios. Ahmazing.

I Have No Plan B

Having no Plan B (I've been watching Casey's vlogs again, I think I'm in love with them). It's scary but I love the idea. Freeing, but scary.

To ultimately love what I do and simultaneously contribute to my community, my society, that's really the best. For me, that would be the best.

I was thinking the other day about travelling. And the places that I've travelled so far. Currently I'm away from home in Australia. I don't know what travelling is or means to me if it can't be shared or benefit individuals other than myself. I know many say travelling is everything. For me, it depends. I don't know if you will relate or understand, I'm having a bit of difficulty explaining my feelings more in depth. Perhaps, I'll leave the thought at that for now and return to it in the future.

My Cup of Tea | DIY

Lately I've been using a white mug and a whiteboard marker to doodle on my daily cup of tea. Not just doodles, but reminders of what I'd like to focus on throughout the day. I have to say, it's really been helpful. I can write my favourite motivational quotes, and it's there to look at whenever I go to take a sip. I suggest it :).

I know, I need to pull up my socks and continue on daily with these posts!

What does Etiquette Mean to You

I recently came across an article by Forbes titled, "27 Etiquette Rules for Our Times". The list is introduced by saying "You'll notice a common denominator in all of them: Think about other people's feelings first because it's not all about maximising your personal convenience" This is more of what etiquette means to me.

A few of my favourites from the list:

1. When you get to the front of the line at Starbucks, don't tell the barista to wait while you wrap up your phone discussion. The barista hates you, and so does everyone behind you. They are hoping the barista spits in your latte. (lol)

2. Don't show up at a party empty-handed, unless you've been instructed to - and sometimes not even then Bring wine or dessert or a plant. (yes)

3. Remember that if you feel a need to respond immediately to every incoming text, you'll lose more in the eyes of the person who's in front of you than you'll gain from the unseen people who are benefiting from your efficiency. (totally agree)

I've Won the Lotto on Life

No matter how shitty my luck may seem on a particular day, I was born in Canada. I drink from what seems like unlimited tap water. I have never known what it means to be hungry. I have never known what true hunger really means. I know my next meal is when I want it. I am ashamed to say it's hard to conceive in my mind what it must be like to not.

I hope I never stray far from this idea and live life worth my ticket.

Why am I Vegan?

Why am I vegan? I will probably do any extended post later throughout my blogging, today I will just mention that it is because of environmental reasons. I have never considered myself an "environmentalist" to be frank. I have however somewhat always been conscious of conserving electricity, water, taking public transit instead of driving - apparently none of that compares when an individual decides to take on veganism. Cowspiracy was a really insightful documentary I watched.

Take a Moment

"When we attempt to use criticism to win an argument, to make a point, or to incite change we are taking two steps backward. People can be led to change as horses can be led to water, but deprecation will rarely inspire the results you are aiming for... And when another is defensive, there is little you can say to break through the barriers he has raised. Everything you say is then filtered through skepticism, or worse, complete incredulity."
